Team CFTT

Meurchin

Attached to the club in Wingles, between Hénin-Beaumont and Béthune, and based in Meurchin, Team CFTT can boast some notable results this year: 10 pigeons in the top 100 ALC-CALC in Châteauroux (Jeunes), first regional place in Châteauroux (Vieux). We had the pleasure to meet Dominique, Claude and Bruno, who spoke at length about the history, the current events and the projects of this grouping like no other.

The CFTT Team is made up of four pigeon fanciers who, through a longstanding friendship, have decided to join forces: Dominique Trunet, Claude Candotti, Bruno Frima, Richard Tincq.
Formed in 2015, the quartet, whose pigeon fanciers are based in Meurchin (near Béthune), now manages a colony of three hundred pigeons. (video 1)

After having evoked the beginnings of their collective adventure in the first part of this long interview, Dominique and Claude deliver in this second video their feelings on the evolution of their passion over the last twenty years.

"Before, for example, a well-informed pigeon fancier used to go on holiday very rarely. Those days are over," says Dominique. Family and professional occupations play an important part in our lives. That's why this grouping, which allows us to reconcile everything, has proved necessary. All the more so, as Claude underlines it, as pigeon racing has "become a sacrifice in terms of presence and financial terms".

The two pigeon fanciers also come back to the imperiality of reducing the number of pigeons in the long run: indeed, the colony currently welcomes about 300 pigeons (including 80 widowers). (video 2)

Finally, Claude evokes in this video his best pigeons. The opportunity to talk (once is not customary) about the lineage, due again of the association of the three pigeon fanciers.

After having evoked the beginnings of their collective adventure in the first part of this long interview, then the numerous evolutions that their passion has undergone, Dominique and Claude come back, in this third and last video, a little more in detail about their techniques of play and breeding.

We play classic widowhood," Claude underlines. Sometimes you only put one board and the result is just as good... Overall, we always imagine that if someone plays well it's because they have a great mastery of the techniques of the game. In fact, in my opinion, he doesn't do any more than anyone else. Above all, he has a pigeon that makes the difference. »

The two pigeon fanciers also take the opportunity to talk about food ("A racing cyclist who attacks the season with 4 or 5 kilos more takes big risks. It's the same for our pigeons. "), but also the care to be taken, the need to avoid antibiotics as much as possible and the importance they attach to animal welfare. (video 3)
