Anthony PELLITERI: a very small team for a HUGE performance Rongy, a small town in French-speaking Wallonia located a short distance from Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, is home to the last winner of Barcelona International 2025: Anthony PELLITERI. 

 

A victory that Anthony told us recently (cf. previous article), and which highlights both the exceptional class of the pigeon, the quality of its line and the unwavering commitment of its breeder. 

Until recently Anthony played everything! Why? Simply because he likes — or even loves — this passion: speed, middle distance, distance, international, young, yearlings, and old. Only females, once passed into the adult category, were no longer housed... but that could change soon. 

I write “until recently” because Anthony explains that in Belgium, where he is located, the expansion of competition shelves and the scarcity of fans make certain categories difficult to reach. And playing all categories with 1000% commitment is... exhausting. 

So he decided to go all out on the bottom and the internationals, convinced that the longer the distance, the less the mass and the wind influence the result. 

This is also why he is going to build a small team of females: “I was told that females could be super efficient in this discipline.”

For Anthony, going all out means focusing on the essentials: with a maximum of 24 widowers, it's not about developing a “factory loft”. Until now, it already respected this limit: at the start of the 2025 season, it had 16 or 17 widowers, around forty young people and 12 breeding pairs. 

Its organization: classic winter breeding, then widowhood, with the aim of getting the pigeons ready for the first interprovincial competition — an appointment that is becoming more and more important to prepare for the rest of the season. 

And for food? Magic powders or specific grains? Anthony answers frankly: a bit of everything, but always natural. Mixtures from several firms according to the categories, a particular satisfaction for Bonduelle, and in water... only natural. Curious, he sometimes tests new yeasts or supplements, as long as it remains healthy.

Veterinary side? Only mandatory vaccines are used, and if not only in case of emergency. Lately, good news: no emergency! 

Anthony enjoys his great performance, which allows him to live his passion even more. We can only be happy for him and wish him all the best in the future.
